2019 Tribute to Teachers to Honor Outstanding St. Vrain Valley Teachers and Educators

Each spring, the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley hosts the Tribute to Teachers, an event that honors and recognizes the excellence of our teachers and brings out the stories of the superheroes in our district that go above and beyond. On May 4, 2019, the Education Foundation will be hosting the Tribute to Teachers at the Westin Hotel and Conference Center in Westminster.

Middle students tour Career Development Center.

Middle school students toured Career Develpment Center. Freshmen can take Agriscience, Health Sciences, Culinary, Engineering and Manufacturing classes at CDC. 

Engineering Technology student's catapult project.

Students in the Career Development Center Engineering Technology class created a catapult using Solidworks software. The catapult must shoot a plastic golf ball 15 to 25 feet using variable launch capabilities. Students could only use PVC pipe and trampoline springs. The total project could only be 2 feet by 1.5 feet. 

Agri Science Class: Animal Systems Unit Project

The Career Development Center's Intro to Agri Science Class did an animal systems unit project, which offered students the opportunity to bring their own animals and teach their classmates. 

You can never be too safe

Career Development Center Exploration of Health Care class practices infection control techniques. After completing the Health Care class, student are ready for Nursing Assistant, Dental Assistant, Medical terminology and EMT classes. 

Career Development Center CNA students complete Clinicals.

Career Development Center CNA students complete Clincals at Longmont United Hospital and Manor Care of Boulder. These high school seniors have the opportunity to receive a CNA certification after completing 1 semester of classwork and clinicals at Career Development Center. Students learn to help people who are unable to help themselves due to illness or age.

Career Development Agriscience program makes wreaths to sell to the community.This project is a fund raiser for the different classes offered in the Agriscience and Plant and Environmental technology pathways.

Career Development Center Pro Start Culinary Arts Program district catering.

Career Development Center ProStart Culinary Arts Program catered breakfast for svvsd district high school and middle school principals and assistant principals. Culinary arts will be hosting a prime rib luncheon December 11th from 10:30-1:00 at the Sunset Cafe in the Career Development Center building.

Superintendent Update - Outstanding Achievements

It has already been an outstanding year of growth and success across St. Vrain Valley Schools. Day after day, we hear of numerous student achievements, teacher accolades, industry partnerships, grant awards, and so many more recognitions that are building significant momentum behind our world-class education system. This year, St. Vrain Valley Schools continues to see significant advancements in academic achievement. Specifically: four-year graduation rates have continued to increase with among the highest requirements in the state; test scores, achievement, and participation with the SAT, ACT, CMAS, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate continues to rise; numerous students are earning many highly-competitive and prestigious scholarships, all of which has garnered statewide and national acclaim for St. Vrain Valley Schools and our entire community.

Career Development Center Advanced Manufacturing Academy

Career Development Center would like to welcome all high school students and their families to learn more about the newly developed Advanced Manufacturing Academy, launching in the Fall of 2019. Pathways include - Electronics, Optics, Machining and Welding.
